We've reached the point of the session where all the money bills have passed over to the Senate: the annual tax bill, appropriations, transportation budget, and capital bill. The Senate is also now working on the major health care reform bill. Governor Peter Shumlin's proposal for creating a new infrastructure for a single payer health care system in Vermont leaves more questions than it gives answers. Above all, how will it be paid for? The 2011-12 session promises to be a busy one. The worsening budget crisis, and a bill proposing a single-payer health system, will be hot topics all year. I've just uploaded my commentaries from the end of December through the beginning of February, but there will be more to come.
